3 February     - History of the British motor industry by Paul Adey.

What are your car memories? Do they include names such as: Morris, Daimler, Frederick Simms, MG, Percy

Riley and Jaguar?

This is a story of a garden shed industry, that within no more than 120 years, grew into the largest industry in the

world, focussing on the pioneers and engineers that made it all possible. This presentation is non-technical and

deals with the start of it all and looks at the individual men and their companies that came together to become the

great British Leyland and the people who collectively contributed to its ultimate downfall.

Paul has over 60 years in the motor trade from garage floor to boardroom and is a Fellow of the Institute of the

Motor Industry. He is also a member of the Association of Motor Industry Historians.
